Agrilia is one of the most unique extra virgin olive oils in Greece, not for its varietal, but for its birthplace— the dry, wind-blown and sun-kissed Cycladic island of Antiparos in the center of the Aegean Sea and far from the lush olive groves of Crete and the Peloponnese.
Pronounced A-gri-LIā, the word means “wild olive tree” in Greek. A limited quantity of Agrilia Organic Early Harvest Olive Oil is produced annually on a family-owned grove on the tiny Cycladic island from Koroneiki trees. Critical to an olive oil’s quality and purity, Agrilia comes from a single source and is pressed within 3 hours of harvest, creating an intense green, fruity aroma with notes of freshly-cut grass, herbs, artichoke, tomato and green almond.
Due to its organic nature and early harvest, Agrilia contains high amounts of Polyphenols, which give the oil a medium bitterness and a peppery aftertaste. Polyphenols are also packed with antioxidants and have numerous potential health benefits that standard olive oil lacks.
